This ornate series of arcades, stained glass windows and carved marble pilasters adorns the atrium of the Minneapolis Municipal Building. Designed by local architect firm Long and Kees in the 1890s, it featured skylit stained glass commissioned from local artists as well as a multitude of hand-carved features. Many of the ornaments and treatments in the building disappeared under a 1930s renovation designed to add more office space. In the 90s, attempts were made to uncover, clean and restore some of these diamonds in the rough.
