The public imagination is served by large bird sculptures on or near the Nicollet Mall. I don't recognize the species, although there are parts that resemble a heron, but also an inflated sandpiper. Neither have the local cachet of the Loon, unless these are maladroitly shaped Loons I am slandering through ignorance. I am not sure they inspire me.
